A Secret Place

I wrote this poem after attending a "Christmas Tea." I was anticipating surgery within the next week and was very apprehensive. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and the women at my table held hands and prayed for me. It was very touching. All of us need daily strength and a secret place where there is calm and the presence of our Savior.

Sit me near a window,
A table set for two.
The cups of tea filled to the brim,
And pastries, just a few.
A secret place for you and I,
A place of oneness rare.
Whispered thanks and settled comfort,
No more burdens had to bear.
Let me sit in Your holy presence,
In our secret hiding place.
As we commune like two best friends,
'Till the finish of this race.
